Honoring the Life of Tajan’a Williams

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of a bright young star, Tajan’a Williams. A YouthForce Internship alumna, she recently graduated from ReNEW Accelerated High School, receiving the Empowerment Award. In a speech she delivered at commencement, she said, “We must pave the way to a better future by trusting our vision, standing in our power, and settling for nothing less than success.” Tajan’a never settled. She overcame many challenges in her life. She was determined. In addition to completing the YouthForce Internship program, she was an alumna of UnCommon Construction and took classes at New Orleans Technical Education Provider. She worked hard for a better future, and we are very proud of her accomplishments. While Tajan’a’s life was cut far too short, we honor her and hope her story will inspire other young people.
