Navigating College & Career Readiness and Dual Enrollment in Urban Education Systems

A new paper published by the College in High School Alliance features YouthForce NOLA’s holistic approach to increasing career-connected learning in New Orleans:

By 2035, 85% of good-paying jobs will require a postsecondary degree or credential—yet today, only 60% of high school graduates enroll in college. As the demand for skilled workers rises, the need to bridge the gap between high school and postsecondary success has never been more urgent.

Navigating College & Career Readiness and Dual Enrollment in Urban Education Systems explores how cities across the U.S. are tackling this challenge head-on. Drawing on interviews with leaders from 10 major metropolitan areas—including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Washington, DC—this new paper outlines a strategic framework for expanding college and career readiness initiatives in urban education systems.
