For Many New Orleans Teens, the Hardest Part of Summertime Work is Getting in the Door

As more New Orleans teens compete for a limited number of summer jobs, YouthForce NOLA continues to connect students with paid internships and career exploration opportunities, though it accepted only 288 of more than 500 applicants this year. YouthForce NOLA leaders say the program helps students gain professional experience, explore career paths, and identify other opportunities even if they are not selected, with the goal of preparing young people for long-term success in New Orleans.
