Meet & Greet

Meet & Greet

  • Mercedes Benz Superdome (St. Charles Club Lounge) (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Every intern supervisor should attend the Meet and Greet event, which is a networking event for YFI interns and employers designed to allow students to practice the soft skills they learn in training in a real-life setting. Students will research your organizations before the Meet and Greet by reviewing the information you share in the Company Profile and Work Plan Surveys. Students are encouraged to seek out companies of interest and to network more generally. After the Meet and Greet, employers will be given a survey with the opportunity to share the names of any interns they met and are particularly interested in hosting. We do our best to match employers with the intern(s) they request, but sometimes, transportation and other factors preclude certain matches.

On parking and entering

Please park in Garage 6 at the Superdome. (It is the closest garage to St. Charles Ave). Follow signage to get to the St. Charles Club Lounge.

Come celebrate and learn about soft skills development at YouthForce NOLA's Soft Skills Showcase! Together, we will celebrate and share the incredible work of the participants of our Soft Skills Teacher Fellowship (SSTF). Over the course of the past school year, SSTF fellows have endeavored to incorporate soft skills into their curricula. At the showcase, educators, families, and community members will have a chance to witness impact that soft skills can have on a student's success.

Also known as 21st century skills, soft skills such as communication, problem solving, collaboration, and more are critical for success in a modern economy and world. This environment makes the work of fostering and developing them over time incredibly important for the success of our young people after high school. Our SSTF fellows have spent all year working with their students to foster their soft skills. The Soft Skills Showcase will give you an opportunity to share some of valuable insights and experiences that SSTF fellows have developed over a year.

Light refreshments will be served.

Please park on the street either on Navarre or Orleans Avenue.
