FOR EMPLOYERS

Our Employer Partners Are Shaping Our City’s Future Workforce

YouthForce NOLA has partnered with more 250 of our region’s employers with one goal in mind: to better prepare our young people and our city for the next stage of economic growth. We are grateful to our partners, Greater New Orleans, Inc., Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans, and New Orleans Business Alliance for their assistance in coordinating and centralizing this industry involvement, and investment in our city’s youth.

We work with employers to increase career awareness among educators and students, inform policymakers on workforce development needs, and connect young people with career growth opportunities. Businesses across New Orleans are opening their doors to students and educators to build awareness, facilitate exploration, ensure students develop the soft skills, and pave access to the technical training needed for the world of work.

Summer Internship Hosts

Engage a single or small group of students in 90 hours of work-based learning through the month of July. This experience grows interns’ technical and soft skills while increasing your capacity to support early-career employees.

Employer Hub

Members of our Employer Hub help organize a variety of work-based learning experiences and in-class career-focused programming and demonstrations. In partnership with Junior Achievement, the Employer Hub brings in critical partners to expose and prepare our students for the world.

Externships

Teachers need to be able to connect their curriculum to careers because it brings real-world experiences into the classroom. Through externship experiences organized by YouthForce NOLA, educators visit employers to experience and learn what your world of work is like.

Youth Empowerment Project (YEP)

From our 2015 inception to December 2018, these employer partners have provided learning experiences for our students and educators, from student internships and educator externships to site visits and exhibitions at the YouthForce Career Expo. Bolded organizations have participated in more than one of these opportunities.

The YouthForce students were quick to pick up on the tasks that we put in front of them. In addition, because the students came to us having had soft-skills and general professional skills training, they were easily accepted and welcomed into our workforce.
